David Bottomley
With over two decades of experience in real estate, David brings a calm confidence and unmatched depth of knowledge to every client relationship. A Birmingham native turned Atlantian of nearly 30 years, David’s journey into real estate wasn’t traditional, but it was inevitable.
After a career in metal and tech sales, a close friend nudged David to get licensed. He took the leap, and never looked back. For David, real estate clicked not just as a career, but as a calling — a chance to guide people through one of life’s biggest transitions with patience, honesty, and care.
David is the kind of agent who stays steady in the storm. His clients describe him as a counselor, therapist, and advocate all in one, thanks to his deep knowledge of the Atlanta market, his innate patience, and his true commitment to helping people make smart, lasting decisions.
Outside of real estate, David is an avid reader who prefers the pages of a book to a screen any day. He spends time gardening, restoring his home, and exploring the rivers and trails near his second home in Ellijay. He’s a dog lover, a longtime volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and Oakland Cemetery, and a firm believer that parks, homes, and communities should all be places of peace and purpose.
With David, you’re not just getting a Realtor— you’re gaining a trusted advisor with staying power, perspective, and a heart for home.
I chose to become a real estate agent in Atlanta to help people through a complex transaction that is usually the biggest of their lives. A home is more than just an investment as it's also a place to live, raise a family, and the foundation for a person's future. Helping my clients buy or sell a home is more than a transaction, it's about guiding clients through one of life’s biggest decisions. It's so exciting to help my clients’ dreams of homeownership become a reality.

I've had two, complex and very successful real estate transactions with my friend and neighbor, Keller Williams Realtor David Bottomley, and with personal experience of seven buying / selling home transactions over 25 years, I can say without reserve that he is one of the most hard-working and knowledgeable agents in the business, and is an expert on the in-town Atlanta market.
I’ve known David for over twenty years, beginning with being neighbors in the Grant Park area where he and I were both very involved with the neighborhood and helping our neighbors, particularly during the late 90s / early 2000s when there were predominantly low-income families in the southwest portion of the area. David helped with neighborhood trash pickups, outdoor movie nights and anything he could do to help the community.
When I sold my home at 261 Ormond St. SE in 2021 David provided invaluable advice as to how to show off the special characteristics of my 100+-year-old home that wouldn't come across in the listing—we sold the property for more than double what I’d paid for it in 2003 and David was invaluable in helping me analyze the multiple offers that came in, eventually resulting in selling in 5 days at nearly 20% above list.
In 2024 I decided to move back to Atlanta and told David that I wanted to find something in-town for under $250K… after he got off the floor from shock, he went with me 4 weekends looking at properties, with David intuitively knowing what I’d like: something I could see the value in that others might not (my father always said: Son, you never make money when you sell real estate, only when you buy – so true. You’re going to sell it for what it’s worth, you have to buy a value.)
When we first looked at what would become my home at 258 Willis Mill Rd. SW, we both saw the intangibles: an amazingly deep 250’ lot on a quiet street that dead-ends into Lionel Hampton Park / Westview Cemetery and the Southwest Atlanta Beltline.
As one of my longtime best friends, David knew I had a peculiar advantage over other buyers: I didn't have a wife! I could live somewhere that would not seem livable to some people. The property had been on the market for at least a year with an out-of-state owner and apparently had had squatters. It was listed at $230K, but needed at least $30,000 to make it livable.
After long nights of hard work, David helped me negotiate down to $190K, and also referred me to a mortgage broker who, due to my large down payment, was able to lock in a 4.5% interest rate.
On the last day of due diligence it looked like the deal would fall through because the seller’s attorney had not signed off on the latest revised offer. My job required me to get up at 3:30am and I couldn't stay up to see if the offer came in by midnight—David told me not to worry, to go on to bed and he would take care of it: and he did.
Three days before the closing, the attorneys discovered a lien on the property for $2,500 that the seller could not afford to pay and that I would have to pay if I still wanted the house. I was furious at the thought of paying somebody else's bad debt, but David offered to split that cost with me.
Now I have an affordable mortgage in Florida Heights, one of the hidden gems of Atlanta, where my girlfriend and I can ride our bikes to anywhere in intown Atlanta on the Beltline.
David sends me articles on things he knows will be of interest to me: places on the beltline or the latest ADU zoning changes. I can ask David about anything related to buying or selling real estate, from divorce related real estate matters, zoning, or I can ask him to run comps on my property or on another property with nothing for sale on the table... David is just like that. He’s a good man with a good heart and immense knowledge.
